Dean takes his cubone everywhere though. She won’t let him out of her sight. He’ll walk into a pokemart with her clinging to the back of his coat and kind of nuzzling his earlobe with the front of her skull and when the clerk is like, “Do you need a pokeball for her?” he’s just, “No?”
MUSE, ROD LAVER ARENA, MELBOURNE - DECEMBER 6, 2013
Many people will claim to be the biggest fan of a band or musician because they’re really passionate, they’ve been to a couple of shows, they have all the songs, they have lots of merchandise… But where can you draw the line to say someone actually is the “biggest fan”? Is there even such thing as the “biggest fan”?
I believe I have met Muse’s biggest fan. This is Catherine, who was at Rod Laver Arena waiting in line for the gig. She has been to 108 Muse shows in 3 years. She has met the band 6 times. She has been to gigs all over the world. At her 100th show (September 8), the band came down to her at the barrier and asked what song she’d like them to play as a celebration of her devotion. She requested the song “Fury”. They played it for her, in front of an entire arena of people. (She then got this tattooed on her wrist to commemorate the moment).
I never thought “biggest fans” actually existed until I met Catherine. She has earned that title through dedication and hard work. Someone who is happy to travel the world to tour with their band deserves to be recognised. So much respect Catherine.
